The One With Unwritten

October 29, 2006

Someone once told me that friends are like characters in a book. Some of will remain only in one chapter; others will last throughout the book. Some will take the role as the savior and some will fit in the shoe of a villain. Some of them, I believe, will leave a deep imprint in your mind long after the book is closed. On the other hand, some will only linger in your mind for a while before it is erase by time.

For me, I had closed the cover for many books of my life. Some books are unforgettable while some are just annoyingly dragging. There are a few special books where I can’t wait to re-read again. By flipping through the pages of these books the magic of its words and characters will be relive again beautifully as if you are just reading it for the first time ever. Other than that, it will also be another unforgettable experience for me if I could understand and appreciate these characters in a new level of understanding and perception. Who knows you might fall in love with the hero of the story all over again.

Some might be wondering if they could pen their own ending to their story. I guess some of us forget that we are in control of our own life. Some characters or a new chapter will not even exist if we do not take the initiative to take the pen and scribble it down ourselves.

For me our life is like this huge book we’ve been working on. The book where we play the role as the author, the hero, the publisher, the editor and also the reader. We are in control of the storyline of this book. We have the power to choose the characters in it. And of course we are the one that ultimately ends the book. Today is where your book begins. There are so many pages to fill in and so many new characters to introduce. The possibilities are endless. The new chapter in your life may just be the chapter you least expected to read.

I hope by the time when I’m ready to pen a conclusion to my book I would be able to get a good read of it! And I would say to myself, what a satisfying read this is!

I dedicate this blog to a very good friend of mine that comes into my life and never leave.
